Ok this is the biggest thing we have ever done,
We're going to cram an entire symphony orchestra into a nightclub full of beer drinking party goers. We're gonna get local composers to write heavy metal songs to be played by the 40+ member orchestra of rock and roll virtuoso vigilantes. Were gonna have the biggest rock and roll circus you have ever seen...
......We're gonna call it Plastic Acid: The Rock Orchestra.
June 26th, at the Plaza Nightclub, Granville st. Vancouver.
If you have ever wanted to drink beer in a middle of an orchestra pit playing heavy metal and rock interpretations of some of the best classics, you better come see this.
Check it out..
"Plastic Acid (a Rock Orchestra) @ the Plaza Club June 26th. Presented by 99.3 The Fox, The Georgia Straight and Molson Canadian in conjunction with all our other great sponsors (see below)!
There are very few orchestras in the world that set up in a bar, encourage loud, enthusiastic cheering and then blow your mind with both modern rock music and a few orchestral classics thrown in.
Plastic Acid (a Rock Orchestra), the devilish offspring of Musical Director, Bryan Deans, is performing one night only at the Plaza Club in Vancouver, June 26th, 2008.
Founded by Bryan in 2006, Plastic Acid's mission was to be a project that would cross over between the orchestra community and a younger, rock and roll audience. Not an unusual concept for Bryan who has been embodying this premise throughout his musical career. The idea is to allow concert goers a full orchestra experience in a club atmosphere, combine it with both original scores and covers and allow for a wider, more diverse audience into a symphonic world and cut-down barriers between musical genres.
Plastic Acid encompasses a 45+ piece orchestra of some of the finest musicians in the city, performing classical, rearranged rock covers and original scored music. The scheduled program consists of Beethoven, arrangements of Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, and original Canadian compositions from both acclaimed composer Jason Nett who is composer-in-residence for the Vancouver Island Symphony as well as up-and-coming composer Martin Reisle.
Opening the show will be Plastic Acid (the Rock Band) which is the original four-piece behind the Rock Orchestra including Bryan, his sister, Marissa Deans, Brad Pyke and Nick Urquhart. Plastic Acid (the Rock Band) will be performing original songs from their upcoming EP, which will be released at the show on June 26th.
The kick-ass show you've been dying to see!
Plastic Acid is also now, officially, sexy.
Thanks to the The Starlet Harlots and their members Miss Via Rose, Lola Frost, Farrah Moans, Lady Villainy and KT Couture who will be joining us on stage for some of the performance. Check them out here: www.starletharlots.com
Tix: are available either online at www.clubzone.com or at Long & McQuade (New Store - Terminal Ave). They are $20 in advance (highly recommended) or $25 at the door.
Special thanks to our sponsors:

Its been a busy month for everyone here, lots of sound setups and events going on. We were recently at Burnaby Lake Sports club doing sound for Sound Evidence, courtesy of Try Events. It was a community event for the BC Wildlife Foundation and their efforts to promote awareness. They had a run around the lake and it seemed the whole running community had come out to support. Sound Evidence put on a great show, we hope to work with them again soon.
Kaimyra Recording has had the pleasure of working with Vancouver's best Elvis experience, Elvis Gold. We've been hitting the venues having a blast working with sound and lighting. Hopefully some recordings to come!.

This was truly a job we will never forget. Stay tuned for PROX's release of the music video 'Kaleidoscope'.

We're keeping real busy these days, A number of exciting things happening at the moment, most notably, the Lesismore performance at The Heritage Grill tracks came out amazing.
Click here to listen to a sample of the show!
It was the smooth performance and great audience that made theses tracks incredible.
Lesismore is playing all over Vancouver, visit www.lesismoremusic.com for calendar information.
On April 29th, Kaimyra was on-site at Morgan Zentner's 'A Touch of Perception', a fundraising recital. The proceeds of this recital will go towards the production costs of a CD that will feature new music written by students from the University of British Columbia's School of Music. All of the pieces on the disk are works commissioned for the oboe and English horn and performed by Morgan Zentner. The show was held in St. Mark's Anglican Church. I love church acoustics ;-) The sound came through great, with the lush hall reverb sweetening up the tracks the whole time. The performance included grand piano, upright bass, cello, viola, 2 violin, flute and oboe, what a grand mic'ing adventure.
Stay tuned for samples from the show!
More cool stuff... Kaimyra got the chance to record the local community orchestra, Elgar Strings, a project headed by Bryan Deans, local conductor, organizer and performance artist. Elgar Strings is a 25 piece orchestra local to New Westminster. Check out the Portfolio Page for samples from the event!
